The Historic Shawnee Alliance (HSA) will open the downtown Facade Grant program for applications beginning October 1. Applications will be accepted until funds are expended. All building owners within the downtown C4 business district are eligible to apply. Business owners who rent or lease are also eligible but must have approval from the building owner.
Grants up to a maximum of $4,000 must be matched dollar-for-dollar. The grant is for the renovation of the facade only – the face of the building that fronts on a public street. Structures on the corner will have two facades. For a complete list of guidelines and the application, visit the HSA’s web site at: www.historic- shawnee.com or contact HSA member and city planning director Justin DeBruin at 878-1616.
